Welcome to Kada's Garden

Please note that the majority of this website uses the scientific or botanical names of each plant.

Hello! Welcome to Kada’s Garden. We are a family run farm which employs organic and sustainable polycuture style practices to grow tropical fruits, herbs and many other ethnbotanicals. We have a small farm in coastal British Columbia, Canada as well as our main farm operation located in the far south of Taiwan where we primarily live and operate from.

Our passion is nature, not just plants. We have spent much energy and time on renewing a previously poor quality clay farm slab devoid of life into a green sanctuary. We have seen a massive increase in the animal life seen at the farm including some much appreciated organisms such as spiders, frogs & toads, birds and numerous others. In this style of farming, the soil has naturally turned into a lovely ever cycling compost system, one which we have not ever fertilized since 2009.

With the greater diversity in plants brings greater diversity in all other walks of life. Soil microorganisms, insects, small mammals, reptiles, birds etc. With these added fauna bring tremendous pest predators which do a remarkably good job at keep certain naughty bugs in their place. In this manner of farming we cannot deny the realities of things such as weeds and pests, but in a system that actively promotes the use of dead space, weeds become an issue only around the perimeter of the farm. And with the added beneficial organisms and generally awesome plant health, pest and disease problems are generally relatively easy to remedy by mechanical means.

With all that said and done, at Kada’s Garden you buy from the source, the farmer. We grow it, harvest it, process it, pack it and ship it. Every step passes through our own hands so we can select the best quality. All our plants, seeds & herbs (with 3 exceptions), are grown right here by us 100% organically in a sustainable way. With buying direct, the freshness of herbs is also greatly enhanced.

Please note all prices are in New Taiwan Dollars (NT$ = TWD).
