Lophophora fricii cv. 'Cauliflower'Family: Cactaceae Subfamily: Cactoideae Tribe: Cacteae Botanical Name: Lophophora fricii Habermann. Extensions:cv. 'Cauliflower' English Name(s): Peyote, Peyotl, Devil's Root, Dumpling Cactus, Mescal, Mescal Button, Whiskey Cactus. Synonyms: N/A Description: This is an ongoing project, but this cv. is distinguishable from the regular forms of L. fricii in that its skin is uneven and "lumpy" like that of the cauliflower surface. History: This new cv originates from a cross between a Lophophora fricii cv 'Marbles' and a regular L. fricii plant. 1 of the resulting seedlings showed some interesting skin texture and was bred back to a cv. 'Marbles' and now we have F2 as shown below. Unfortunately that first F1 plant died in a typhoon in 2007, so it is unavailable for future breeding projects. Lophophora fricii cv. 'Cauliflower'.
