Tips for Travelling in Borneo

* If driving yourself, get a slightly bigger car (ground clearance) and carry a spare. Roads outside of KK have many holes!

* Book 3-6 months in advance for any of the islands. Turtle Islands and Sipidan especially!

* Stop by the tourist info centre in KK (they are smart friendly people) and get yourself set straight at the beggining.

* Try not to support the ongoing rape of the environment. Locals will sell things that are truly bad for the country to make a buck, dont support this. Borneo has be very much devasted environmentally speaking!

* Be prepared for some flooding in some areas in rainy season. We saw sandakan under a 10" lwayer of the coolest looking mud.
