Discovering Malaysian Environments![]() ![]()
Malaysia is an AMAZING place. There is no question. We backpacked through Malaysia in the summer of 2009 and fell in love. The amazing OLD forests, super wildlife and plant diversity, the people....It is a great place. But like too many great places, they are rotting under the skin. With a very racist, narrow minded government who is bent on their way and making money, nature has taken the back seat. Malaysia is, and has been, completely raped since European colonization, and after independance seems to have gotten worse. Although I love Malaysia, the country, with all my heart and soul, it is a dieing land due to peoples ignorance and greed. This is a shame because some of the most amazing people, ie the Penan, are in Malaysias current political boundaries (and suffering greatly!).
