Piper betel (Betel Leaf)

The betel leaf is used by many people, mostly in Asia, as a stimulant herb. It is most commonly used with the Betel Nut and lime in a chew that acts as an enegizer/stimulant. In some countries the leaf is folded into a packet and dried Betel Nut and lime is placed inside. This packet is then chewed for a period of time. In other countries the nuts are used when quite immature and are rolled fresh in a folded betel leaf with lime paste; this is then placed in the mouth and chewed.
